It's that time of year again when we reflect on the past and revise goals and plans for the future. If your health is something you are planning to focus on in 2018, then have a look at this video and a few resources we have linked below to help you live a healthier this year.
It's always a good idea to do a little research into a new product you want to buy or a lifestyle change. Here are a couple of websites we use to help use look beyond the label:
Do you want to learn more about what organic means?Only Organic is an American website whose goal is to, "cultivate a better understanding of what being organic really means and the environmental and health benefits choosing organic provides."
Living Non-GMO is a resource website provided by the Non-GMO Project. It's a lifestyle site that lets you learn about GMOs, read the latest news, and provides guides for shoppers looking for Non-GMO products (our wheatgrass juice is one of them!). EWG
EWG is an organization whose goal is to empower consumers to live healthier and in healthier environments. They provide resources that look into what is in food, water, hygiene and beauty care products. They also have rating scales for these products and you can look up products in their databases. Their food scores are based upon nutrition concerns, ingredient concerns, and processing concerns. Their beauty scores are based on hazards and data availability.
EWG is a great resource for those of you who really want to dig deep into what really is good for your health. There are a few concerns about some of their rating systems though, so if you would a little more information have a look here.
These are just a few resources to help you educate yourself about your diet and health. If you are planning on making some major changes to your lifestyle or diet, please visit a health practitioner. Wishing you a happy, healthy new year!
